Client fails to start; Flash plugin/flash.ocx issue

Hey,

So I've decided to give Davinci a second try and this time I don't even get so far as using the client!

I'm on a different (Vista) machine, and when I go to log in to the client, Vista pops up a box saying the program had an error and will shut it down. It then tells me it will diagnose the issue, which results in "flash.ocx is required and no long included in this version of Windows"

All it points me to is installing the plugin which I already have.
I've even uninstalled, cleaned the registry, and reinstalled.
Same process with the client.exe file. Two separate attempts.

Any insight?

A strange problem but obviously related to your installation of Adobe Flash. Please visit their site to be sure you have the latest possible version installed. Reboot, try again.

i was in exact same position, trying to get davinci to work after buying credits ages ago and now having this issue. anyway, with a quick "flash.ocx vista" google search i found its not isolated to just this client program. seems to be an issue with different versions of flash relating to the browsers or something. regardless, i downloaded and installed flash from this address: http://www.softwarepatch.com/internet/flash.html it seemed to fix the problem, must have the .ocx file. though flash then stopped working in firefox and i had to reinstall it yet again through the browser. so its not really a permanent solution.

Thanks very much for the update and the fix I'll have a look around and see if there isn't some more permanent fix for this issue so that we can put together a quick tutorial.
