I am a complete noob to debranding/unlocking phones. After reading these forums, I decided to take the plunge.
I have a brand new SE Elm, locked and branded O2 Ireland prepay. I want to remove O2 limitations on wifi, and satnav, and to be able to use a different sim on the odd occasion I'm in Northern Ireland, because roaming charges would make it impossible to use the satnav there.

Anyway, I plucked up my courage last night, and loaded client. Login was fine, drivers loaded fine. I chose flash/debrand/rebrand. Then I was presented with a very long list of software:confused::confused:

I chose O2 Ireland black metal, thinking stupidly that because it was highlighted, it would be correct. Flashing was painless, no error messages.

But, when I re-started my phone, I now seem to have an O2 branded billpay phone. The menu hasn't changed. I can connect using wi-fi, but am blocked from the O2 directory. There's no option to download Google maps.

I want to unlock the phone as well - but I don't even know whether I should unlock or debrand first?:redface:

I found a driver on the net - (two files - TS2046.c TS2046.h , and some changes to the config and makefile). I know that the board is connected to the touch screen via spi. to be accurate - SPI1. Despite all of this, i dont have in the /arch/arm/mach-davinci/board-da830-evm.c the structs that include the spi and the touch screen. i saw in the internet something like that, that i think that need to be added to this code source:
